MODULES
This project takes place on the High School Park, PA . It was given a portion of the park in order to be explored in vegetation, light, and topography. Analyzing these aspects, I situated my design in a location of the park where the land is ascending notably, there is lack of vegetation and trees , and therefore, the light getting filtered from those trees created a interesting ambient.
The first model explores the aspects and characteristics of the site in a three-dimensional way. It is made with a repetitive system of modules. The simple form of two triangles is used as a module that repeats it self creating this
dense representation of fi ltering the light just like the trees in the chosen site.
For the second model, it was used the same module but in a diff erent way. Being the Park a public space to exercise and admire nature, I decided to design a structure that will allow anyone to relax, rest, and appreciate the park with another perspective. The module was separated in two pieces and eventually turned into a hammock. Because the chosen location has an open space with no big trees in the middle, the new structure took a large amount of space having the opportunity of making the modules in diff erent sizes; and it also gradually increases its height to give a diff erent view on the top of the trees.
