FOLDING

The design of this project started as folding explorations that then fused with others to become the envelope of the structure. With these folded structures I was able to create a new space within it.

5 minutes away from the Nippori Station in Tokyo, Japan there is a stair where everyone that commutes to the train station go through. My designed space is for people to relax, gather, and observe, also transforming it into a touristic spot. It posses a ramp that allows you to see from another perspective the sunset. Also has a cafe at the top of the stair and some tables in the inside for people to gather and relax.
