Case Study: The Leaning House

This is a case study on a house from PRAUD Architects. It is located in a hill on Chungpyong, South Korea and built for two professors that wanted a weekend residence, a natural retreat where they could write and do small seminars.

My attention was drawn by the fact that they used the exterior materials to also represent the type of space for the inside. For the house, they used zinc and wood, which represents private space, and also glass, for the semi-public spaces. Basically, if you could see it from the outside through the windows, then it was a semi-public space, but as you go inside and up, the spaces get more private until you get to the bedroom.
