CANOPY PARK
The Canopy Park is located at the Reading Viaduct, Philadelphia. This is a conceptual design with mixed-use spaces that can adapt to the community and the public. The most iconic feature of the park is the canopy structure through the path, which will display artwork in the interior of the canopy and in some galleries located at strategic spots.
The path intentionally extends in specific places to create spaces with different purposes and entry accesses. The programs in the park divide in 3 functions or activities, Learn, Gather, and Display. And to connect it all, this park design also includes a continuous running track on the left side of the path to avoid disturbances with groups of people going in a slower pace.
DISPLAY: Areas usually include seating spaces along art work that will be displayed under the canopy.
LEARN: This is more of a local exhibition space that includes small open room that serve as galleries for the community to support and learn about local artists.
GATHER: Located at the south entrance, this space has a stage and a seating area for local / community performaces.
